About Dan
When Dan tragically lost his life in 2018, he was just 30 years old, racing for one of the sport’s greatest teams and on the verge of achieving something very special.
Losing Dan was deeply painful for us all, but it also inspired the formation of The Dan Kneen Charitable Fund as a meaningful legacy.
Torq
It’s good to talk, we all say. But, sadly, we’re not always great at following our own advice, especially when our mental health is suffering. That’s why we at the Dan Kneen Charitable Fund are excited to spark the conversation among the hundreds of people who race, work, or volunteer in the local road racing paddock.
Events
We hold several events throughout the year to help raise money for the Dan Kneen Charitable Fund. View more information about our upcoming events below.
We would love to see you there!
About Us
Dan Kneen was a hugely popular presence in the TT paddock; his infectious smile lit up the lives of many, just as his talent on a motorcycle lit up the racetrack. When Dan tragically lost his life in 2018, he was just 30 years old, racing for one of the sport’s greatest teams and on the verge of achieving something very special.
But Dan wasn’t just a brilliant motorcycle racer. He was a partner, a family member, a friend to many, and a local hero for a nation. Losing Dan was deeply painful for us all, but it also inspired the formation of The Dan Kneen Charitable Fund as a meaningful legacy. We are immensely proud of the work we’ve done over the past five years, but we feel the time is now right to add further purpose.
Creating TORQ
Having experienced our own traumas, we recognise the need for rapid, preventative interventions for those affected by serious racing incidents, and this has led to the creation of TORQ. By filling a current void in rider health and welfare, TORQ will strive to create positive change when it is needed most, allowing us to help those who find themselves in similar situations.
We see TORQ as Dan offering an outstretched hand to his racing family in times of need. We truly feel this initiative is a fitting legacy for Dan and will ensure his spirit of camaraderie lives on at the TT for many years to come.
After all, it’s good to talk.
